Harmar Lodge #390 Update
Brethren,
As this year progresses and we are getting closer to achieving and reaching our goals set forth at the beginning of the year.
One of which is as we all know the senior deacon staff topper. It has been replace multiple times over the years due to its poor design. Harmar Lodge set forth a committee consisting of WB Jim Rhodes and 2 others to look into having a better design made. WB Rhodes pulled his resources and found a company in Vincent Ohio by the name of Micro Machine works. After meeting with the owner and discussing the details of the topper Harmar Lodge commissioned them to design and produce the replacement. The owner of micro machine works tasked Jacob Warfield, who was a high school student interning there and was given this task of making it for us. With this project and countless hours of research and development he was able to reach his requirements of his internship and he presented a fine looking product.
As a token of our appreciation Harmar Lodge presented this gentleman with a scholarship to assist in the costs of his higher education path.
This was broadcast on WTAP news (https://www.wtap.com/2022/07/21/local-college-student-receives-scholarship-after-completing-unique-project/). Mr. Warfield plans on attending Ohio University to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. We wish him the best of luck in his endeavors.
We would also like to announce Harmar Lodge will be participating with the other Masonic Bodies in our building in WB Aaron Reynolds “First Friday Event” through Marietta Main Street. The Theme will be the Roaring 20’s. The Marietta Masonic Building company has gave WB Reynolds permission to open our Building to the public for a brief education program and small tours of the building. Light refreshments will be available for the public in the dining hall. WB Reynolds and the other Masonic bodies representatives will finalize the event details next week. We would like to commend WB Reynolds (AU#1) and Bill Gossett (AU#1) along with other members for all the hard work that has went into planning this event.
We are also in the stages of Planning a “Past Master” night to honor our Past Masters of Harmar Lodge. These great men are the History and backbone of our Lodge and deserve our respect for paving the way and being an inspiration to all of us.
Fraternally Yours,
WM Waggoner
